Biography

Nikita Volov was born in 1992 in the city of Severodvinsk on the White Sea. His career began in Pskov, where at the age of nine he performed Bach's First Piano Concerto as a soloist with the city philharmonic orchestra. Extraordinary achievements brought him to the Central Music School for gifted children in Moscow in 2006, where he was taught by Farida Nurizade. He continued his further studying at the Moscow State P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of the legendary pianist, Prof. Eliso Virsaladze, and completed this in 2019 with an Artist Diploma under Prof. Stefan Arnold at the «Hanns Eisler» Academy of Music in Berlin. During his studies he received awards such as the DAAD Prize and support from esteemed foundations like the Lucia Loeser Foundation, the Ottilie Selbach Redslob Foundation and the Gisela and Erich Andreas Foundation.

Nikita Volov's musical path took him to the most important stages worldwide, where he presented solo and chamber music programs spanning works from the baroque period to contemporary music. He gave concerts in renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Slovak Philharmonic (Bratislava) and is also a welcome guest at international music festivals such as the “Liszt en Provence” in France, the “Aus den Fugen”, the «International Piano Days in Stuer», the “Sauerland Herbst” in Germany and the “International Keyboard Instruments Festival (IKIF)” in the USA. His chamber music partners include eminent musicians such as Dmitrii Shishkin, Daniel Austrich, Nobuko Imai, Martin Spangenberg and Matthias Höfs.
Volov's career also includes numerous engagements as a soloist with orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, the Delmenhorst Municipal Orchestra, the Azerbaijani State Symphony Orchestra Hajibeyov, the Azerbaijani State Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic. His interpretations have been featured on various radio broadcasters such as NDR Hamburg, Deutschlandradio Kultur, “Orpheus”, Radio Romania Musical, BBC Radio 3.

Aside from the piano, Nikita is deeply passionate about the arts and literature, constantly seeking innovative ways to integrate his diverse interests into his performances. His upcoming debut CD on the "Genuin classics" label promises to be a captivating exploration of the intersection between music and literature, offering a fresh perspective on the works of composers such as Schumann, Korngold and Grieg.
